What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is the use of psychological tools and methods in conjunction with regular interpersonal interaction with a professional with the intent of changing behavior, cognitive patterns and problems in positive ways. Coming to therapy is an opportunity for growth and opening up to new possibilities.
After establishing a strong trusting relationship with a therapist, therapy is a safe place to be supported while recognizing unhealthy or unsatisfying choices and patterns. Talking things through with an objective person may help you see a different perspective and alternate ways of approaching what has become your usual way of responding. Being comfortable with your psychotherapist is an important part of this process so you can be open and honest. Whether to change and what to change are determined by the patient, but being open to practicing new skills and recommendations allows psychotherapy to be most effective.

Improving lifestyle behaviors to decrease anxiety, depression and feeling stuck
Developing healthier communication that recognizes your right to your own experience
